Feel better soon

This card is a commission for a co-worker - rather than make a formal get-well, I decided to go with fun and cheerful.  They do say laughter is the best medicine right?

I must admit I was inspired by this card here, from the Spotted Chick.  I was digging through my stamps wondering what to do when I saw this CTMH sentiment and I knew it would be perfect with this Paper Smooches cow stamp.  Love it when things work on paper like they do in my head!
More cards to come - DH is taking the boys camping with the cubs/beavers this weekend, which means unlimited scrappy time for me!  Mind you there's a thunderstorm looming overhead, they may get wet...good thing I'm not going!

Challenges:
Colour scheme - Paper Smooches Sparks
Masculine/patterned paper - CAS-ual Fridays
For the boys - Chocolate, Coffee and Cards
Card for a man - Crafty Catz
Boys and Men - Fairy Tale Challenge Blog
Diecuts - HotShot

New beginnings

I must apologize, it's been a bit dusty and quiet around here the last week as I spent the long weekend at my Mum's.  Her internet is mediocre at best and her computer seems to have a hate/hate relationship with Blogger.  I managed to get my commenting done, but couldn't face fighting with it anymore!
I am back now, with a fresh new challenge at Fab N Funky - New Beginnings.  This could be a new baby, new stamp, new something - easy peasy!
This card was for my sister's birthday - I didn't post it right away so she wouldn't see it.  I used a new Strawberry Kisses stamp and some colourful MME paper to make a cheerful card.

Inside

I suspect you will be seeing quite a few cards coming in the next little while - you should see my haul of new stamps!  I normally spread my shopping out, but this past month has been the perfect storm of stamp acquisition!  My Mum bought me a couple of sets back from England, I had a gift coupon burning a hole in my pocket for my fave store and another store ordered me a bunch of Cat's Pajamas stamps.  (Oh and there's the Lily of the Valley stamps that are on the way, there was 10% off there too...)
No  more until at least next month for sure!

Some of my new stamping goodies!

Challenges:
Sketch - Cards & Things
Anything Goes - Make It Monday
Ribbon/twine - Ooh La La creations
Summer Holiday - Simon Says Stamp and Show (Drinks on the patio anyone?)
For the Ladies - Stamp and Create

A sad day

Rather sad news as Paper Sundaes has announced they are closing down.  I know it's hard to juggle creating and commenting and the like, we all have busy lives and too much to do.  However, we are still playing along for one last challenge, this one is called Pretty in Pink.  Should be a nice easy challenge for you, so please come and join us for our last hurrah!

Last one...

I promise this is the last Mother's Day card!  I've really enjoyed making a bunch of pretty, flowery card but now it's time to move on to some more masculine cards.  This card is for Paper Sundaes challenge "Things with Wings" and this little guy sure fits the bill.  I sent this card to my Mum as she knows I love dragons - not sure every Mom would appreciate a dragon, even one bearing tulips!
I'm hoping to see some tulips here, and maybe even get some photos of the boys, but it is clouding over quickly.  Hopefully it will clear up soon, we need sunshine on Mother's Day.

Happy Mother's Day everyone!

Challenges:
Squirrel and the Fox - One for the Girls
Crafty Mess - Pink and cute (how about pink and green and cute!)

Duck, duck, penguin?

So I bought this Stampin' Up set because I liked the penguin and then never did anything with it.  Sound familiar?  Well, the challenge at CAS-ual Fridays was birds and this is what I came up with.  For some reason I had the children's rhyme "duck, duck, goose" running through my head, except my card turned out to be duck, duck, penguin!
Hope you're all enjoying a wonderful Mother's Day and getting to spend some crafty time and some time with family!

Challenges:
CAS-ual Fridays - Feathered Friends
Clearly istamp - What goes up must come down
Daring Cardmakers - Fussy cutting (I cut my waves from the patterned paper)

Totally Papercrafts - No pesky girls allowed
SJ Crafts - Favourites (penguins, all the way!)

A while back, I won a challenge over at Cupcake Craftroom and they have asked me to be a guest designer this month.  I made a fun little card with an older stamp set I have never used and I love how this turned out with the little fireflies exploding out of the jar!

The sweetest thing...

So I saw these new stamps from Wild Rose and I just had to get a couple.  Isn't this little elephant the cutest?  They were a blast to colour too, and I hope I dim them justice!  This one went to my Mother in Law, who is not very computer savvy, so no worries about her seeing it here!
DH wants to take me out to dinner for Mother's Day, but the thought of eating out in a nice restaurant (IE not McDonalds) with my boys makes me cringe.  I keep telling him I just want some nice pictures to scrap, maybe this will finally be the year!

A few challenges:
Punches and diecuts - Crafts and Me
Anything Goes - Just Keep on Creating
Off Center - Scrapbook Sisters (not sure if this counts or not?)
Mother's day - Crafty Sentiments

Buttons and Bows

Well, it's another busy week here and I'm still making Mother's Day cards.  Well actually, I've made them all, now I just have to finish posting them!  This one was for a co-worker, she really liked the lace doilies on a previous card, so I put a little spin on them and turned them into flowers.  I really like how this turned out, although looking at it now, I realize the bow is covering my sentiment.  Drat.
Don't forget to come and join us Fab n Funky this week, the challenge is Buttons and Bows, a nice easy one for everyone.  I'm also regretting not taking a pic of the inside, as this is really a Mother's day card, I swear it!

Challenges:
Frame It - Crafty Creations

I love you Mom -Penny's Challenges

Mother's Day take 4? 5?

Hee hee, I've made so many Mother's Day cards, I can't keep track of them all!  This one is for our Mother's Day challenge at Paper Sundaes - I went for a fairly formal, elegant card for this one.  The stamp is CTMH, the papers are MME and the sketch is an older one from Mojo Monday.  Love that site, it's such a treasure trove of sketches.

EDITED TO ADD - sorry about the entry into Always something creative, guess I shouldn't enter a challenge when I can't read the details!  Hee Hee!

Recipe - Desert Island Crafters (Buttons, die cuts, bright colours)
Flowers - I brake for Challenges
Flower Power - Joanna Sheen Challenges

More Mother's Day love...

Yet another Mother's Day card, I found a great tutorial for making Stargazer Lilies (one of my faves that I grow) over at Darlene Designs.  Hers are totally better than mine, but they still came out pretty good!  And so happy to have done something nice with a stamp that has been languishing in the drawer.  This card was for a co-worker at work, she bought 3 Mother's Day cards and cleaned me out!

Celebrations - CMC Copic group (2nd entry)

For the guys

We had some 'Momisms' last week, so I figured we needed some 'Dadisms' this week.  Besides, you can only do so many flowery Mother's Day cards in a row before loosing it.  I still have 2 to go, but the most important one (my Mum's) is in the mail.
Good thing the challenge at Fab N Funky is 'For the Guys'!
I stuck to a simple design, letting my fun image stand out.  I stamped Dad in his chair, masked it and then stamped all the 'Dadisms' around it.  Fun huh?

Challenges:
Fave colours - Crafts and Me (strong, rich colours!)
Spots or Stripes - Crafty sentiments
For the boys - Going Grey with Scrap Creations
Anything Goes - Papertake Weekly
For the Boys - Crafty Cardmakers
Sketch - Seems a little sketchy

More lace and Pearls

Geez, lace and pearls again!  Since I did such a CAS take on it last week, I decided to go a little more traditional here for this week's Paper Sundaes card, with a sweet LOTV image and some lace doilies.  Still clean, but not quite so simple.  I really love the little flags, that's a MFT die - so fun!  Maybe this lace and pearls thing is growing on me...hee hee!

Off to make more Mother's Day cards...

PS - Just a big shout out to all the new followers who have joined my blog over the last few months.  It sure is gratifying to know that there are lovely people out there who want to come back and visit me again!

Challenges:
Sketch - Mojo Monday
Pearls and Lace - Card Crafters Circle
Mother's Day - Addicted to Stamps
The letter B - Catered Crop (banners)
For a special lady - Dream Valley

Momism #13

Whew, 3 Mother's Day cards done and 2 more to go!  A couple on commission, one for my Mum and one for my MIL. This challenge for Pile It On was quite tricky - Mother's Day but NO flowers.  Seriously, what is Mother's day about if not for the flowers?  I decided to go on a snarky tangent (plus it was an excuse to use Stella again) and do a 'Momism' card.  You know, the things you say to your kids over and over and over and....well, you get the point!

Challenges for Emma:
CMC Copic Challenges - Celebrations
Hiding in My Craft Room - Mother's Day
Crafty Catz - Anything Goes
Emergency Crafters - Bold and Bright
Craft Us Crazy - Fave Stamp Company
DL Art - Mother's Day
Dutch Dare - For Mom

Away we go...

Yup, the bunny is back.  And you're going to see more of him, cause I've ordered 3 more stamps and I'm angling to get a couple from the new release too!  The girl at the store asked if I could wait a few weeks and all I could think was "umm, no!".  Yep, I know, it's sad.

So the challenge at Fab N Funky this week was no DP (or no patterned paper to those of us not sure what DP stands for.  Lou, fill me in!)  I had fun making a CAS card featuring one of my fave bunnies - I love the blue/orange combo too!  And as I pointed out on the FNF blog, the strip of scalloped blue paper is Bazzill cardstock - the pre-embossed stuff!

Challenges:
Sketch- Feeling Sketchy (I took some liberties with the sketch, I smooshed my '3 items' together)
Embossing - Crafts and Me
Animals - Creative Belli Blog
The great outdoors - My Mum's Craft Shop
Clean and Simple - Paper Pretties
Animal Antics - Creative Craft Challenges 2
Punches/dies - Deep Ocean (you may have seen the scalloped border on a few (hundred) other cards around here, love it!)

I'm a Sundae Girl!

Woo hoo, I'm a Sundae Girl - I was accepted to be on the DT at Paper Sundaes!  Just a little excited here...
So the first challenge is easy peasy - CUTE!  And one of my fave digi stamp companies is our sponsor - Bugaboo!  I picked out this cute piggy stamp and made a fun birthday card.  I used the wood grain paper from MME On the Bright side - I though it suited this little piggy perfectly!

So come and join me at Paper Sundaes, let's see what cuteness you can create!

A few challenges:
Sketch - Deconstructed Sketch
Use a Digi - 2 Sisters
Loaded with Layers -Stamptacular Sunday
